Compact electrical interface
The electrical interface for the MRU Compact and MRU Compact RJ50 provides a complete overview of the connectivity options available for these models. It includes female connector views and descriptions of the different connector diagrams (RJ45 and RJ50).
MRU Compact
The MRU Compact uses a 8-pin RJ45 connector with 24 V DC passive power over ethernet (PoE) for power and communication. A standard Cat5e ethernet cable with RJ45 plug can be used to interface with the MRU Compact.

MRU Compact RJ50
The MRU Compact uses a 10-pin RJ50 connector with 24 V DC passive PoE for power and communication, with extra pins assigned to serial communication (RS-485). A standard Cat5e Ethernet cable with an RJ50 plug can be used to interface with the MRU Compact RJ50.

Warning
Never use a RJ45 connector with an MRU Compact RJ50. Use the RJ50 connector and cable that will be provided with the MRU. It will look like it fits but will damage the connector. This is due to the 2 outside blind pins in the RJ45 connector.
Active PoE ports
MRU Compact must not be used with active PoE ports, e.g. IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at and 802.3bt. Connect MRU Compact only to ports with passive PoE with 24V DC.
