Use mode

The use mode selects the optimal tuning of the internal algorithms for a given application. The available use modes are:

  • General purpose (default): The MRU is optimized for a general application (recommended)

  • DP: The MRU is optimized for a vessel using a dynamic positioning (DP) system. If Use mode is set to DP mode, surge and sway measurements are found using the estimated peak heave period in the MRU’s high pass filter. This is to attenuate the very low frequency DP motion from the surge and sway measurements.

Follow these steps to configure use mode:

  • In the use mode section, select either General purpose or DP, depending on your application.

  • Click “Save“ (if default use mode is changed)
